Fall Injuries

Definition: Fall injuries happen when a child slips, trips, or tumbles and gets hurt. Falls can cause anything from a small bruise or scrape to a more serious injury like a fracture or head injury.

Parent Tip: After a fall, do a quick head-to-toe check: look for swelling, bleeding, limping, pain with movement, or behavior changes. If your child hit their head, keep a closer watch for the next several hours and trust your gut if something feels “off.”

Why It Matters: Falls are one of the most common ways kids get injured at home and on playgrounds. Most are minor, but a hard head impact can lead to delayed symptoms that need medical attention.
